Where is it?

Big Gull Lake is about 13 miles long and varies in width from 30 yards to more than a mile.

The lake itself is approximately 170 miles east of Toronto and just 65 miles west of Ottawa.

What it looks like

The land was originally purchased in 1965 from the crown and the cottage was completed (all closed in ) in the fall of 1967. My father and my grandfather were the original builders of the cottage.

Originally the cottage was built with only 3 bedrooms, a bathroom, living room, kitchen and dining room. In 1999 - 2000 it went through a minor renovation where we doubled the size of the cootage. Two more bedroom, another bathroom, family room and screened in porch were added.

Sitting on the upper deck by the cottage you have a view of the docks on the lake.

The screened in porch offers a great place to have dinner or relax and read

.

The Stuff

What we sometimes do!

Dad likes to take it slow, but others don't .

Wakeboarding is fun for some........

wind surfing for others

while eating and drinking is enjoyed by most

and some like ski bisqueting (tubing in the USA)

but cliff jumping is enjoyed by all ages.

What We Do Otherwise

There is always water skiing.

Cutting down trees and stump removal (Dad and neighbor Rob).

Regular dock activities (Dad, Janet and mom).

Bonfire preparations (beer drinking circa 1986).

Proper dock preparations (prior to the refridgerator in the boathouse).

What we do

We go wakeboarding, well Ben does anyway.

We eat and drink. We have the odd neighborhood gathering in our screened in porch.

Bill with a nice bass off the dock!

The lake water temperature can be quite pleasant as seen here at over 84 degrees.

Cliff jumping is always a fun activity for the young at heart.

Just relaxing on the dock is a great pleasure.

Ski bisqueting is always in demand. Jennifer is spraying me to try to knock me off.

The odd camp fire to toast some marshmellows

The Real Reason

Some might say we go for the variety ..............

or the selection..............

but the real and true reason..................

is choice!

There is nothing quite like it!!
